Self-talk. That incessant voice inside our head. All day, every day.
Words that have energy and power.
Imagine having a dog who only does what dogs do. And you constantly criticized every dog action, every dog movement, every dog thing. Bad dog. Dumb dog. Why are you doing that dog thing? How do you think over time, that dog would act? Defeated. Cowering. Maybe even displaying more “bad” behaviors.
Now, let’s think about your self-talk? What do you say to yourself when you do human things?
We’re all human. We all spill, forget, and lose our patience (among other things). It’s how we internally respond with our self-talk that will either lift us up or drive us down. When we begin paying attention to our self-talk, we may feel horrified at what’s been going on between our ears! Then you have a wonderful opportunity to practice changing the unkind self-talk.
At Quantum Balance Erie, we call it mindset management and have many different ways to help you learn how to pay attention to the self-talk and begin being kinder to yourself. It may be through a Quantum Balance Session with Lois, over time at qigong classes, during coaching/mentoring with Julia, or at one of our many community classes.
